NYT Executive Editor Calls USC Prof ‘A**hole’ on Facebook

Yesterda, New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet explained they made the call not to show the Charlie Hebdo cartoons because he considers them a “gratuitous insult.” In response, University of Southern California journalism professor Marc Cooper posted this on Facebook:

Baquet got wind of the Facebook post and fired back, calling Cooper an asshole:

From there, they exchanged some more thoughts about the Times decision:

Politico’s Dylan Byers, who broke the story, printed this follow-up comment from Baquet:

Lots of people have disagreed with my decision. Some of them are in The Times. I get that. Mr Cooper’s comment was nasty and arrogant. So I told him what I thought.
