Pharma Frat Bro, Bernie Sanders Troll Each Other With Intern Application
The “Pharma Frat Bro” who made headlines in September is back, and this time he has decided to engage further with his “favorite” Democratic presidential candidate, Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Martin Shkreli, whose name first gained notoriety when his company Turing Pharmaceuticals “raised the price of a 62-year-old drug it had acquired to $750 a pill from $13.50,” has bantered back and forth with Sanders before. The 32-year-old entrepreneur tried to donate to Sanders’ presidential campaign in October. In response, Sanders rejected the donation and redirected the funds to HIV/AIDS research.
On Monday, Shkreli continued his quest to join (or annoy) Sanders by applying to become his intern.
I filled out an internship application for @BernieSanders. If you can’t beat em…

Announcing a career move to nearly 17 thousand Twitter followers is one thing. Actually following through on it is another, especially when you haven’t filled out the entire application — as Sanders’ staff claimed in response.
.@MartinShkreli You must complete all sections of the application in order to be considered for the position. https://t.co/1RTeYHXSPD -Staff — Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) November 9, 2015
Like all things on social media platforms, this is all really just a bunch of he-said-she-said bullsh*t on display for all the world to see. But hey, at least the staff in charge of Sanders’ official account as Vermont’s senior senator know how to troll properly.
Not to be outdone, however, Shkreli quickly responded that he’d sent his “resume and cover letter” to Sanders’ office for consideration.
@SenSanders I have uploaded my resume and cover letter. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back.

“Pharma Frat Bro” didn’t indicate whether he’d applied to work for Sanders in Burlington, Vermont or Washington, D.C.
