Raven-Symoné Gets Blowback for Remarks About SC Student: ‘You Gotta Follow the Rules’
The View co-host Raven-Symoné––who’s stirred the pot a few times since joining the show––got some fierce Twitter blowback today for saying that while the South Carolina officer who physically confronted a student was wrong, the student should have maybe followed the rules.
During yesterday’s “After The View” segment, as she discussed the confrontation video, she said, “The girl was told multiple times to get off the phone. There’s no right or reason for him to be doing this type of harm, that’s ridiculous, but at the same time, you gotta follow the rules in school.”
She emphasized she wasn’t excusing what the officer did, but still said, “Get off your phone. You are in school, get off your phone.”
Needless to say, a lot of people didn’t like what she had to say:
