Redskins Player Suggests Referees Are Treating Them Unfairly Because of Team Name

After the Washington Redskins lost to the Carolina Panthers last night, Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher suggested that referees are being unfair to them because of their team name.

Yes, the Redskins has been in a long, fierce battle against the government against losing their trademark after there was a sudden public backlash to the team’s name.

But it turns out they may not just be getting targeted off the field. Hatcher said last night, “Don’t single us out. At the end of the day, it’s the name. Don’t worry about the name. We’re players and we work our butts off, too. I’m just frustrated with it.”

He said it’s not fair for players to be “punished” with referees making calls against them because they might not like the team’s name.
