Ex-CNN Host Blasts Jeff Zucker For Unpaid Wages: He’s ‘Making a Fortune’ Off Trump

On the year anniversary of the cancellation of his hit CNN show Believer, Reza Aslan took to Twitter to unload on the network’s head honcho Jeff Zucker.

Aslan, an Iranian-American author and commentator, lost his CNN documentary series about world religions after publishing an explicit tweet about Donald Trump, in which he wrote of the president: “This piece of shit is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind.” The tweet was issued in response to Trump’s painfully Trumpian reaction to the London terror attacks in 2017.

Soon after conservative media picked up on Aslan’s tweet, CNN — a network that is perhaps the main target of Trump and his supporters — cancelled his show.

Aslan commemorated his show’s cancellation with two tweets on Saturday, the first alleging Zucker canceled his show and refused “to pay me or my staff their due wages”:

Aslan also took aim directly at Zucker for profiting off of the Trump presidency.

“Let’s be clear about this: Jeff Zucker made a fortune creating Donald Trump at NBC; he made a fortune getting Trump elected with a billion dollars in free airtime; and he’s now making a fortune pretending to oppose Trump at CNN,” he wrote.
