RIP Harambe Jerseys: NFL Shop Bars Fans From Customizing Gear with Gorilla’s Name

The NFL Shop is no longer allowing consumers to purchase customized jerseys with the beloved gorilla’s name inscribed on the back.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell broke the news on Twitter to, undoubtedly, countless disappointed Harambe fans.
NFLShop now blocks fans wanting to get a HARAMBE nameplate on jerseys.

The New Orleans Saints official Twitter account confirmed the news a short time later.

While the NFL will no longer cash in on Harambe, other teams are still eager to do so. Rovell also reports that the UMass-Lowell college soccer team is having a “Harambe Night” on Wednesday, at which the first 100 students in attendance will receive “mini Harambes.”
