RNC Slams Morning Joe: ‘Leader of the Pack for the Worst Case of Trump Derangement Syndrome’
Oh, how the times have changed.
Remember during the 2016 presidential campaign, especially during the GOP primary, when MSNBC’s Morning Joe was constantly under fire for being way too chummy with then-candidate Donald Trump? Well, that is obviously no longer the case. And, to drive home that point, the Republican National Committee absolutely excoriated the program for its coverage this morning.

As noted in the statement above, the RNC took real issue with the show’s hosts focusing much of their attention on the president’s “covfefe” tweet while not covering the issues the GOP would like to see get more coverage, likening it to a “bad episode of Gossip Girl.”
It’s also apparent the party’s committee wasn’t thrilled with the show’s interview with Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), highlighting that Franken didn’t get one question about the villain of the moment, Kathy Griffin, despite having an event scheduled with her in July. In fact, the Morning Joe folks weren’t really interested in talking about Griffin at all today.
Of course, right after the statement dropped, co-host Joe Scarborough responded on Twitter, claiming it shows Trump is obsessed with the show:
This is funny stuff. Interesting to see Trump still obsessed with our show. He should get a hobby or new job that keeps him focused. https://t.co/fqUxiiBTXs

I’m sure we’ll get a segment or two tomorrow devoted to this on tomorrow’s broadcast.
