Scott Pruitt Babbles About Love For Chick-Fil-A After Reports He Tried to Get Wife a Job There

Embattled EPA Chief Scott Pruitt seems to have as much trouble commanding the English language as he does commanding the Environmental Protection Agency.

In a quick, but truly stunning in its lack of coherence response to Jessica Smith — a Washington-based correspondent for Nexstar Media Group — Pruitt attempted to elucidate reports that he helped get his wife a job at Chick-Fil-A.

What came out of his mouth was a word salad that was peppered with potential slogans for the poultry chain.

“I just think with great change comes, you know, I think, opposition,” Pruitt said. “Look, my wife is an entrepreneur herself, I love, she loves, we love, uh, Chick-Fil-A is a franchise of faith and it’s one of the best in the country so that’s something we were very excited about.”

“It’s an exciting time,” he added.

Exciting is one word for it: Pruitt is the subject of more than a dozen federal probes and may be under yet another for using his influence to get his wife in the door at Chick-Fil-A. Marlyn Pruitt began filling out a franchisee application, but never finished, and did not ultimately work for the company, a representative for the company confirmed to The Washington Post.

Pruitt’s many trials and tribulations have not gone unnoticed by his fellow Cabinet members, either. And even President Donald Trump took a little jab at Scott during a FEMA meeting Wednesday, reportedly saying: “EPA is doing really really well… Somebody has to say that about you a little bit.”
