Sebastian Gorka: Media Criticism of Trump’s Speech is ‘Asinine and Self-loathing’
When Stuart Varney had Sebastian Gorka on his Fox News show this morning, it didn’t take long for a talk about Donald Trump’s recent Poland speech to turn into an attack on the left wing media.
In Trump’s speech, he talked at length about “defending our civilization” and the importance of western values. Almost immediately breathless opinions on his speech popped up everywhere with titles accusing it of employing “White-Nationalist Dog Whistle.”
Gorka supported Trump’s stance briefly before the conversation shifted to talk about the left’s reactions.
“I was astonished to see the left, and a lot of people, attacking him because he stood up for Western values” Varney started with. “I couldn’t believe that. Since when has an American president not been allowed to stand up and say ‘I support western values.”
Gorka immediately blamed it on President Obama, saying his “apology tour” and him deeming every significant issues “to be something caused by America” is what led to this current view of America.
“That ended January 20. We’re back reasserting who we are, what American values are, and how we want to be friends with anyone who shares those values, especially great nations like Poland. That all changed about 24 weeks ago,” Gorka said, before shifting to the media.
“I think it’s very much part of the left wing ideological radical wing. The radical wing that’s captured the Democratic party for example, and most of the mainstream media. The fact is we have a man who is proud, a president who is proud of what America stands for, and then he is accused of being racist? It’s asinine Stewart, it’s self-loathing is what it is,” Gorka said.
This then led into an assault on their favorite left-wing media.
“CNN is tanking. There are more people watching Nick at Nite cartoons than there are watching CNN new programs. The New York Times is having to lay off numerous editors. What does that say? The people have had enough. Common sense is reasserting itself. Pride in what America stands for is reasserting itself,” Gorka said. “And the people that elected the president into the office don’t buy it anymore.
