Senator Johnson Slams Hillary Clinton’s ‘Theatrics’ At Benghazi Hearing

One of the most fiery moments in this morning’s Senate hearings on Benghazi came when Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) grilled Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about her agency’s talking points and she responded as follows.

“With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest, or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Senator Johnson turned to WTMJ Radio in Milwaukee after the hearings had ended to share his reactions with host Charlie Sykes. When asked if Clinton’s intensity surprised him, Johnson said no. “It was theatrics. Again, she didn’t want to answer questions so she makes a big show of it.”

Johnson defended his line of questioning by saying, “I’m not trying to be obnoxious here, I’m just trying to get the answers I believe the American people deserve to hear. It’s been four months.”

After what can only be described a grueling session before the Senate this morning, Clinton is currently appearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee this afternoon.
