SNL Star Remembers Firefighter Dad Who Died on 9/11


Pete Davidson, the first Saturday Night Live cast member born in the 1990s, became the NBC show’s youngest star when he joined the program in 2014. The young comedian and actor has since proven his worth ten times over.

On Friday, however, Davidson got somewhat serious. That’s because Friday was the 14th anniversary of two very import things in his life — the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York City, and the day his father died. Scott Davidson was a firefighter, and he gave his life trying to save people from the crumbling towers when Pete was only seven years old.

The SNL star intially broke the solemn day with a touching, albeit jokey, tweet about his dad:

“All jokes aside,” as Davidson subsequently noted, the day was a very special one for him. He paid homage to Scott in a second tweet and a post on Instagram:
