Sterling Drops Lawsuit Against NBA, Agrees to Sell Clippers
L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling has officially dropped his lawsuit against the NBA and has agreed, according to his lawyers, to sell the team for $2 billion to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
NBC News reports that Sterling has dropped the lawsuit he was threatening to file against the NBA for “illegally” taking the Clippers from him. And Sterling was still planning to go forward with the suit even after he was declared mentally unfit and therefore couldn’t contest the sale of the team.
Sterling’s attorney says, “The NBA and Donald Sterling and Shelly Sterling have agreed to sell the Los Angeles Clippers to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion and various additional benefits. All disputes and outstanding issues have been resolved.”
So that’s the end of that then. Now we can stop caring, right?
