Sterling Will Reportedly Sue NBA to Keep Clippers Ownership

Donald Sterling is planning to sue the NBA if the rest of the owners force him to sell the L.A. Clippers, according to a report from the New York Daily News. An anonymous NBA executive said that Sterling will fight the league however he can to hold onto the team.

Before the official announcement of his officially being banned from the NBA, Sterling made it clear the team isn’t for sale. It appears he is sticking to his guns, even as the NBA owners are set to soon vote on whether to force him to sell the Clippers. It’s expected the official vote will take place some time this month.

The same anonymous executive who spoke with the Daily News said if Sterling does sue, the legal battle will go on for a while ant it will “take years to settle.”

So far there have been rumors that Magic Johnson and Oprah Winfrey are separately considering bids for ownership.
