Ted Cruz Rejects Comparison Between His and Obama’s Senate Tenures

Senator Ted Cruz today rejected the suggestion from some on the right that he’s just as inexperienced as President Obama was before running for president and that should disqualify him.

On Glenn Beck‘s radio show earlier, co-host Stu Burguiere asked Cruz about that criticism. Cruz said there’s a real difference between him and Obama, arguing, “In his time in the Senate, he was a backbencher. He did not engage in a whole lot of issues of consequence.”

Cruz touted his role in the Senate as a leader on conservative principles. He added, “Unlike Barack Obama, I wasn’t a community organizer… I spent five and a half years as solicitor general of Texas.”
