The Hollywood Reporter Polled 400 Clinton Supporters and 400 Trump Fans About…the Oscars?
Here’s a pretty good idea from The Hollywood Reporter, especially in the wake of Meryl Streep‘s Golden Globes speech and David Harbour‘s barn-burner from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The magazine polled 400 Donald Trump fans and 400 Hillary Clinton supporters about movies, specifically focusing on Sunday’s Oscars broadcast.
They found that 66 percent of Trump voters turn off awards shows when speeches get political, two-thirds of Americans don’t know Jimmy Kimmel is hosting, and 60 percent of Americans can’t name one Best Picture nominee. At least on that last one, they found something that unifies both parties.
Here’s the full set of graphs, courtesy of THR:
Forty-three percent of Clinton’s voters want Trump’s “temperament” to be addressed in speeches on Sunday. Sixty-one percent of Trump voters don’t want any political talk at all.
Find out on Sunday, when Mediaite will be covering the events live as they unfold, starting at 8:30 p.m. EST.
