The Weeknd, Belly Pulled Out of Kimmel Performance Due to Trump Appearance

Singers The Weeknd and Belly were scheduled to be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, but they dropped out because the other scheduled guest was Donald Trump.

Yes, Trump chatted it up with Jimmy Kimmel last night, and according to the AP, both musicians just couldn’t stomach being on the same stage as him.

Belly said in a statement, “I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race. I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”

There were reports of protesters outside Kimmel’s studio, following days of protests in New Mexico and California at Trump rallies.
