Trump Announces Plan to Give Out ‘Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards’

President Donald Trump has announced a plan to give out the “Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards” to reporters and news outlets that he deems are dishonest and promote “bad reporting.”

“I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock. Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!” Tweeted Trump.

He immediately followed-up this tweet by demanding all his followers tune-in to Sean Hannity’s Fox News show at 9:00 p.m. tonight.

While it’s not exactly clear what the president is referring to, it sounds like his proposed awards show would most certainly be a rip-off of Mediaite‘s Most Influential in Media list — which Trump himself promoted a couple weeks ago.

Of course, this is far from the first time the president has announced his plan to attack the “fake news” by implementing some kind of mock “trophy” system for media outlets he doesn’t like.

In November, Trump tweeted, “We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!”

It’s unclear if he’s just trolling and throwing red meat to his base of media-hating supporters, or if he actually intends to hold some presidential ceremony commemorating media outlets for “bad reporting” — but either way, we’ll find out Monday.
