Trump Denies Roger Stone Involved in Comey Firing: ‘Have Not Spoken to Roger in a Long Time’

Surrounding the whole James Comey stunner, it’s been reported by Politico and CNN that former Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone was involved in the president’s decision to fire the FBI director. According to the reports, Stone had been urging Trump to do this for weeks.
Well, immediately after CNN took to the air with its report, Trump took to Twitter to deny that his longtime associate had anything to do with Comey’s termination.
The Roger Stone report on @CNN is false – Fake News. Have not spoken to Roger in a long time – had nothing to do with my decision.

Meanwhile, Stone responded with his own tweet, stating that he wasn’t the source of the CNN report but that he supports the president’s decision 100%.

In a comment to Mediaite, Stone said he “couldn’t say” if the Politico report was true while doubling down on a tweet that he sent out yesterday regarding how Comey treated former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
What Comey did to Hillary was disgraceful. I’m glad Trump fired him over it.@StoneColdTruth
