Trump Fishes For Gratitude From Freed UCLA Players and Twitter is Vexed

President Donald Trump’s majestic journey to Asia has come to a close. He’s back baby, with unfettered access to the White House’s wi-fi.
In other words, the president has returned to Twitter with a vengeance. He’s already tweeted that CNN is “fake” and a “loser,” accused the “failing” New York Times of hating “the fact” that he developed a “good relationship” with world leaders and retweeted a random online poll that shows him with an astounding 80 percent approval rating.
Trump also posted this curious tweet, in which he seems to be fishing for gratitude from the UCLA players he reportedly helped free from the Chinese legal system after they were caught allegedly shoplifting.
Trump said that he negotiated their release with Chinese president Xi Jinping, telling reporters that Xi “has been terrific on that subject. It’s not a good subject. Not something that should have happened.”
Now he wants a token of appreciation from the three players, who were returned to the country just 12 hours ago.
Folks on Twitter were taken aback by another instance of the president’s apparent narcissism, with many pointing out an allegedly racist undertone to the tweet.

So many things wrong with this tweet:
1. There’s a racist undertone here of Trump not expecting to be thanked by 3 black players
2. Trump refers to himself in the 3rd person
3. They wouldn’t have gone to jail
4. The president should never be thanked for doing the bare minimum https://t.co/DQGhvrBe2c— Scott Dworkin (@funder) November 15, 2017

I wonder what it is about these players that would make Trump assume them to be ungrateful… ? https://t.co/1lMO1WgKJs

WHY DO YOU NEED AFFIRMATION FOR EVERYTHING

UCLA has not announced what type of punishment, if any, they will levy on the three players.
