Hillary Clinton has already agreed to do three debates with Donald Trump, now the only question is whether Trump will do the debates too.
After all, Trump recently complained about two of the presidential debates being up against NFL games, fueling speculation that he might back out of the debates. He falsely complained that the DNC rigged the debate days and falsely claimed he got a letter from the NFL.
Well, Trump spoke to TIME Magazine today and said he really wants to do the debates.
“I will absolutely do three debates,” Trump told TIME in a phone interview. “I want to debate very badly. But I have to see the conditions…
“I renegotiated the debates in the primaries, remember? They were making a fortune on them and they had us in for three and a half hours and I said that’s ridiculous,” Trump said. “I’m sure they’ll be open to any suggestions I have, because I think they’ll be very fair suggestions. But I haven’t [seen the conditions] yet. They’re actually presented to me tonight.”
He makes it clear that “certain moderators would be unacceptable” to him and he plans to demand he gets “fair” ones.
Oh, and in addition to that, it turns out the Commission on Presidential Debates is prepping for a third podium on the stage in the possible scenario that Gary Johnson hit 15 percent in the polls.
