Trump Indicates London’s New Mayor Would Be Exempt from Muslim Ban

donald-trump1-300x1971-300x1971-650x427London has a new Muslim mayor who wouldn’t be able to come to the United States under Donald Trump‘s Muslim ban, but don’t worry, because Trump indicated he could be an exception.

Trump spoke with The New York Times yesterday and, when asked about new London Mayor Sadiq Khan, said, “There will always be exceptions.”

And then here’s Trump’s take on Khan being elected in the first place, which is really just a hodge-podge of superlatives:

“I was happy to see that,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Khan’s election. “I think it’s a very good thing, and I hope he does a very good job because frankly that would be very, very good.”

Asked why, Mr. Trump said, “Because I think if he does a great job, it will really — you lead by example, always lead by example. If he does a good job and frankly if he does a great job, that would be a terrific thing.”

Khan fired back today, saying, “This isn’t just about me. It’s about my friends, my family and everyone who comes from a background similar to mine, anywhere in the world.”

He also criticized Trump for his “ignorant” views.
