Trump: Obama Has ‘Done Nothing’ for African-Americans: ‘I Don’t Think He Cares About Them’

While Donald Trump attacking President Obama‘s record is hardly a new phenomenon, last night Trump said without a hint of irony that because things have been so bad for African-Americans under Obama, he must not care about Black people.

“What the hell has he done for the African-Americans?” Trump asked, citing unemployment rates. “He’s done nothing. I don’t think he cares about them.”

Despite the flak he has taken recently for the forceful ejection of a #BlackLivesMatter protester at his rally and his tweeting of an incorrect, racially-charged crime graphic, Trump went on to predict that he’ll win the presidency with at least a quarter of African-American voters. Trump also brought up a number of black pastors who endorsed him, and continued to say that unlike Obama, he has the support of evangelicals as well as the religious figures he boasted of after meeting them earlier this week.

“He’s an unbelievable divider. I thought he’d be a great cheerleader for the country, that’s one thing I thought,” Trump went on. “I said he’d unify the country and he’s really divided the country. We’re going to unify the country and set records with the African-American vote.”
