“You see?” Trump reportedly said to Pence. “You’ve wasted all this time and energy on it, and it’s not going to end abortion anyway.”
The New Yorker reports that Trump’s remarks are essentially a way of undermining his veep. An unidentified staffer referred to as a “longtime associate” by the the magazine reportedly said that the tactic is a way for Trump to “let Pence know who’s boss.”
“Did Mike make you pray?” Trump is said to ask to ask people who told him they met with Pence.
The full piece includes a number of other revealing anecdotes on how Trump all but offered Pence’s spot on the ticket to Chris Christie, and how Ivanka Trump helped Mike Flynn overcome strong objections to earn a spot in the administration. Check out the complete story here.
