Tucker Carlson Ends Wild Debate By Declaring He’s Been ‘Hit By a Tidal Wave of Dumbness’
During a debate with a guest Wednesday evening on the subject of sanctuary cities, Fox News host Tucker Carlson ended the segment by accusing the man of hitting him with a “tidal wave of dumbness.”
Border Angels founder Enrique Morales was brought on to tangle with Carlson over the effect of sanctuary policies on crime. Right off the bat, things got testy as Morales objected to the Fox News personality’s use of the term “illegals” to describe undocumented immigrants.
“First of all, I don’t advocate for illegals; I call people people,” Morales exclaimed. “They are human beings. They are not illegal aliens or illegal human beings.”
The two men then engaged in a spirited back-and-forth over illegal immigration and whether sanctuary policies make cities safer. They also tangled over studies that each claimed proved their point.
Towards the end of the segment, Carlson pressed Morales on the need to follow federal laws, telling him that he should try to change them rather than ignore laws he doesn’t like.
“If somebody commits a crime, they should be arrested. No doubt about it,” Morales stated, before moving onto the president for some reason. “Donald Trump should be arrested for the sexual crimes he has committed, for example. He shouldn’t get a pass.”
Carlson countered with one more question, asking Morales if Alabama should be able to roll back voting rights if they felt like it. After Morales claimed that things really haven’t changed in Alabama anyway, the Fox News host tossed out this little bon mot to end the interview.
“I’ve been hit by a tidal wave of dumbness,” Carlson smirked. “Thanks, Enrique! From the San Diego school of debate.”
