Twitter Blows Up Over Report Rosenstein Has Verbally Resigned

Axios reported the rather shocking news this morning that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has “verbally resigned” to John Kelly, following last week’s New York Times bombshell. Other reports are saying Rosenstein is currently headed to the White House and expecting to be fired.
Either way this news is stunning pretty much everyone, sending an already chaotic Monday into overdrive:

Trump firing Rosenstein is wrong. It is Trump believing he’s above the law. It is Trump trying to stop a legitimate investigation.
It should be widely condemned by Republicans. But it won’t be. Because Republicans have put defending Trump above defending the Constitution.

If Rosenstein is fired, Noel Francisco may be next to oversee Mueller: A clerk for Scalia, he worked for Bush during the Florida recount and has been skeptical of special counsel probes in the past https://t.co/hF9okDuwIy
