Earlier today, President Donald Trump delivered a short address to African leaders who were gathered at the United Nations. During his speech, Trump talked about how he had “so many friends going to” African countries to try “to get rich.”
And he also made up a country.
“Uganda has made incredible strides in the battle against HIV/AIDS,” Trump stated. “In Guinea and Nigeria, you fought a horrifying Ebola outbreak. Nambia’s health system is increasingly self-sufficient.”
Yeah, there’s no Nambia. And Twitter took notice and had all kinds of jokes.
Ah yes, the kingdom of Nambia right next to Zamunda. https://t.co/nLAvxDVIwL

As the Washington Post noted when reporting on the speech, the White House amended the transcript of the address to show “Namibia” after the gaffe was noticed.
