Twitter Mocks Trump’s Apparent Astonishment That Puerto Rico Is an Island: #HeckuvaJobDonnie

As Donald Trump spoke today about the crisis in Puerto Rico, there were quite a few media observers online who were wondering if the president only just learned what an island is.

Throughout the past week, Trump has repeatedly emphasized how difficult post-Hurricane Maria reconstruction will be since Puerto Rico is not part of the American mainland. The president previously noted that the island is “out in the ocean — you can’t just drive your trucks there from other states,” and today, he once again expounded on how its “surrounded by water. Big water. Ocean water.”

Twitter users have noticed this trend, and they are now mocking the president for highlighting the most obvious complication to the humanitarian crisis.
