Veterans Advocacy Group Slams Trump For Self-Promoting on Memorial Day: ‘#CadetBoneSpurs’
VoteVets, a liberal advocacy group that focuses on issues relating to veterans of the US military, responded to President Donald Trump’s self-promoting Memorial Day post by stating it was “the most inappropriate #MemorialDay comment that a @POTUS has ever made.”
“Self-promotion on a day to remember the fallen, and wishing those remembering their deceased loved ones a “happy” holiday is appalling. #CadetBoneSpurs,” tweeted the group — “cadet bone spurs” being a nickname for Trump created by Senator Tammy Duckworth, a veteran, who was referencing the president’s Vietnam War draft deferments.

Trump’s controversial Memorial Day post went as follows:
Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!

Other major Twitter accounts knocked the president for using the holiday focused on praising veterans, as even prominent conservatives knocked Trump for his latest questionable tweet.
