Viral Report on Christine Ford’s RateMyProfessors Reviews Identified the Wrong Christine Ford

You may have seen a report going around Twitter about Christine Blasey Ford‘s RateMyProfessors.com reviews.
Ford, of course, came forward alleging Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when he was 17.
The report from Grabien News — which listed negative reviews on the ratings website — got a lot of pick-up online, but then, well…
These are reviews for Christine A. Ford, a licensed social worker who holds an MSW from Cal State Long Beach & taught at Cal State Fullerton. https://t.co/RHEFgLdHvS
Kavanaugh’s accuser is Christine B. Ford, who holds a PhD from USC and teaches at Palo Alto University. https://t.co/gCwf2KVi5T

The viral story from https://t.co/1ftKenH1oE that used RateMyProfessor comments to portray Christine Blasey Ford in negative light is based on feedback for a *different* woman. I contracted Grabien founder/EIC Tom Elliott and he added an editor’s note to say the story was wrong. pic.twitter.com/mvfG5r4wns

And indeed the report now has the original text completely retracted and features this editor’s note:
We apologize for the error, but we’ve since learned there are two Christine Fords working in clinical psychology in California and we wrote this report about the wrong Christine Ford. We regret not going to greater lengths to ensure this was indeed the same Christine Ford. Please do not share this article with anyone (and if you have, delete it/withdraw it); we are only leaving the page up so you can see this important update.
As Media Matters reports, the erroneous news had initially been spread by the Drudge Report and Mark Levin, among others.
