Watch Cranky Alabama Coach Nick Saban Get Testy With an ESPN Reporter

screen-shot-2016-11-21-at-1-44-52-pm-1Alabama coach Nick Saban, hardly a great interview on his best day, figured to be cranky for sure during a halftime chat with ESPN’s Olivia Harlan on Saturday — given his No. 1 ranked Crimson Tide struggled in the first 30 minutes against unheralded Tennessee-Chattanooga. And indeed, the surly coach did not disappoint.

Asked by Harlan, “How have you told your players what kind of game you are in?” The coach icily responded:

“Well, I’m gonna tell them right now. I mean, I’m embarrassed the way we played this half. You want me to tell them that?”

Unfazed, Harlan shot back, “Sure,” as Saban began sprinting away.

The coach turned back and replied,

“Okay, thanks.”

Alabama, it should be noted, was leading 14-3 at the time of the interview. Pity the poor sideline reporter who has the unenviable task of chatting with Saban when his squad is actually trailing.
