Wealthy CEOs You Probably Didn’t Know Support Democrats

 

Mediaite’s own Andrew Kirell addressed the persistent myth that Hollywood is not friendly to Republicans with a handy slideshow that outlined a few of celebrities that you may not have known were Republicans. Their Republicanism is not widely known, not because they are cautious about revealing it, but because it is simply a fact that is not worth mentioning. Why? Hollywood conservatism is more common than the conventional wisdom would have you believe.

In that vein, there is a pervasive myth that big business and finance is populated entirely by Republicans (Given voice as early as Friday, June 8 by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews when he said “business and the Republican party are the same thing”). This is not the case.

Sure, there are some prominent Democratic donors who are also captains of industry, like billionaire investor Warren Buffett General Electric CEO and former Obama administration advisor Jeffery Immelt. And most CEOs and wealthy business leaders tend to hedge their bets by contributing to both parties – but you may be surprised by some of the nation’s leaders in business and finance who donate disproportionally to Democrats:
