‘What Happens If You Become Pregnant?’: Hillary Clinton Gets the Between Two Ferns Treatment

Hillary Clinton may be busy prepping for Monday night’s debate against Donald Trump at Hofstra University, but she still managed to take a break for Funny Or Die’s Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. And in short, it’s absolutely awesome.

Take your pick on the criticism of the day about the former Secretary of State who is vying to become our nation’s first female President: she’s scripted, unanimated, too stiff, etc. But in this format with the Hangover star — flanked as always by the show’s identifiable two fern plants — the bit plays perfectly and she’s pretty damn funny.

“Critics have questioned some of your decision making recently,” began Galifianakis. “And by you doing this show I hope it finally lays that to rest.”

“Oh I think it absolutely proves our case, don’t you?” Clinton fired back.

The exchange is full of dead pan deliveries and one-liner quips, and all things considered, Clinton nails it. She casts a vicious side-eye at the top of the bit when Galifianakis gets pounded by Secret Service and at one point tells the comedian, “You need to get out more.”

“What happens if you become pregnant?” asks the comedian. “Are we gonna be stuck with Tim Kaine for nine months? How does this work?”

“I can send you some pamphlets if it helps you understand,” she cooly shoots back.

In 2014, President Barack Obama went on the Funny Or Die fan-favorite show to promote his Healthcare.gov initiative. The leader of the free world quite literally pushed the little red button during the interview with revelatory results.
