This ought to destroy whatever faith in humanity you still have left.
Atlanta was host to Dragon Con last weekend, which was a pop culture fest attended by approximately 70,000 guests. Unfortunately, the event was crashed by a couple of trolls wearing what is without a doubt the worst cosplaying costume ever

Yes. Those would be the burning, collapsing towers of the World Trade Center on 9/11. And look! The cosplayers even included Barbie dolls to depict the people who fell to their deaths that day.
According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the cosplayers didn’t have badges that granted them entry to the Con, and they left before organizers could officially kick them out. Officials have since released a statement to address the incident:
“We share the concerns of everyone who was upset by these costumes. Their costumes were offensive, distasteful, and completely inappropriate,” the statement read. “Based on other photographs we have seen, we do not believe that these individuals were members of Dragon Con, meaning that they had not purchased badges that would have allowed them to enter the convention.”
Of course, the 15th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up soon, and so, the online condemnation was relentless:
2 ppl cosplayed the twin towers on 9/11 at dragon*con and left said con with their entire bodies intact so someone did not do their job

To the couple who thought it was cute to cosplay as the Twin Towers burning at Dragoncon the week before 9/11, you're a disgrace to cosplay.
