Yet Another School District Shut Down by Violent Threat

d7709834-8eb8-4cae-b6d1-42e667e331e1Nashua, New Hampshire public schools have all closed Monday after two of their high schools were the target of an unspecified threat.

“We have received a detailed threat of violence to harm students and staff at both high schools,” superintendent Mark Conrad announced Sunday. “The threat is specific to tomorrow (Monday). We have been working closely with the Nashua Police Department, which is still working at this time (Sunday) to determine the credibility of the threat.”

“Because the threat is specific and extends to several schools, we will be cautious and close all of our public schools in Nashua tomorrow, Monday, December 21st. I do expect our schools to reopen on Tuesday. I regret any difficulties this creates for working parents but safety must remain our first priority.”

The threat comes the week after Los Angeles and New York City public schools were hit with a terror threat. LA schools also shut down, while New York officials determined the threat was not genuine.
