Zuckerberg After Meeting Conservatives: The Right Has Been ‘Important Part of Facebook’

zuckerbergMark Zuckerberg met with a bunch of high-profile conservatives––including Glenn Beck and Dana Perino––today, and after the meeting he posted a message to Facebook about making the social media platform a politically inclusive place.

This meeting took place in reaction to that controversy about Facebook reportedly suppressing conservatives news, which Facebook denied.

He acknowledges that Silicon Valley tends to be a more liberal place, but says, “Conservatives and Republicans have always been an important part of Facebook.”

However much it may have killed him to post this next part, he got more specific:

Donald Trump has more fans on Facebook than any other presidential candidate. And Fox News drives more interactions on its Facebook page than any other news outlet in the world. It’s not even close.

Zuckerberg said he wants to make sure that everyone using the site feels confident “that Facebook remains a platform for all ideas and that we continue to give every person a voice.”
