Tucker Carlson Buys Into Candace Owens’s Baseless Theory That French First Lady Is a Man: ‘She’s Right!’
Tucker Carlson declared on Friday that Candace Owens was “right” to push the baseless conspiracy theory that the first lady of France is actually a man.
In March 2024, Owens embraced the far-right theory that Brigitte Macron — the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron — is a man. At the time, Owens was so confident in the theory that she said she would “stake” her “entire professional reputation” on it being true.
Owens presented her theory on her Daily Wire show shortly before she was fired over a series of wildly anti-Semitic comments.
On Friday’s episode of The Tucker Carlson Show, Carlson admitted that he initially avoided even engaging with the rumor and compared it to the flat Earth theory. He even said it was “too crazy” for Owens to bet her career on it.
“But anyway, she comes out and she’s like, ‘I will wager my professional credibility on the claim that Macron’s wife is actually a man,'” Carlson said to guest Clayton Morris. “And I was like, ‘Ah, Candace Owens, I love you, but I think this is too crazy.’ And then it turns out she’s right! My mind is blown!”
Based on all available information, the theory has no basis in reality. Before marrying Emmanuel, Brigitte had three children with her first husband.
