Bill Maher predicted that concerns about the southern border and illegal immigration will be President Joe Biden’s “undoing” come November.

“Immigration is probably the biggest issue in this election and in European elections,” Maher told model and actor Fabio in the latest episode of his Club Random podcast.

Maher compared the current situation in the country and with the southern border to the fall of the Roman Empire.

“The forces that collapsed the Roman Empire are very similar to what’s happening today because migration around the world is always such a key factor,” the comedian said as Fabio quickly agreed and told him he “nailed” it.

Maher continued:

I mean, the Roman Empire collapses because the Huns who were from north of Beijing, they were from north of China, and they fought with the Hun dynasty and then they migrated westward and then they put pressure on tribes that they were pushing out in eastern Europe… and then they moved into the Roman Empire, so it’s like when people are moving it just puts pressure on other people and everything changes.

Fabio was born in Italy and received his U.S. citizenship in 2016.

“I just feel like this is going to be Biden’s undoing,” Maher said about illegal immigration. The comedian previously argued that Democrats sticking by Biden after last week’s CNN debate will “regret it.”

“And being in America, you know you have a lot of enemies so you really want to take care of your border because, you know, ISIS and —” Fabio began as Maher jumped back in.

“They caught eight ISIS guys last week!” he said.

Fabio noted he “went through the system” and argued without proper control at the border, there is no way of keeping people with bad intentions from taking advantage.

“If somebody wants to come in your house, they should be coming from the front door, right? Not from breaking the rear window because when somebody breaks your window, it’s because they don’t have good intentions,” he said.
