Conservative Radio Host Nukes Trump Cabinet Member for Embracing ‘Chinese-Style State Capitalism’

Conservative radio host Erick Erickson pulled no punches this week in blasting Trump Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick for what he called his embrace of “Chinese-style state capitalism” – a reference to the Trump administration taking large stakes in U.S. companies — on Tuesday. Erickson also nuked Lutnick for wanting to bring in 600,000 Chinese students to study at U.S. colleges.

“Howard Lutnick is the guy who convinced Donald Trump we need 600,000 Chinese communist students to stay in the United States. He’s in charge of the socialist takeover of Intel. He’s in charge of tariffs. He’s in charge of letting Chinese communist students — notice that he’s embracing Chinese-style state capitalism,” fumed Erickson on his show.

“That’s what they call it: this takeover, Intel state capitalism. That’s the Chinese Communist Party’s model. And he’s involved in keeping Chinese communist students at American universities. I’m starting to wonder what else is going on with Howard Lutnick there?” Erickson added, questioning if Lutnick has some undisclosed ties to China. He added:

Considering he’s embracing Chinese-style state takeovers of companies and wanting Chinese communist kids to stay in American universities—600,000 commies depriving 600,000 American kids of seats in colleges.

And he says, “Oh, it keeps these universities in business.” No, it keeps out American kids who would go to those colleges. They can’t go because the Chinese communists are there. And by the way, if a college in the United States of America were to go out of business because it couldn’t get a sufficient supply of Chinese communists to keep it in business, I’m okay with that college going out of business.

I’m not sure why Howard Lutnick thinks we need Chinese communists to subsidize American universities. Let the universities go out of business if they require subsidy from the Communist Chinese Party, which is where these students are coming from, and then they’re going back to China with the knowledge they’ve acquired from the United States, with the intellect we have developed. They’re gonna go deploy it for the Chinese Communist Party. I don’t think this is wise at all, and all of these bad ideas are coming from Howard Lutnick.
