Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Rages Over Secretary of State Blinken Rocking Out in Ukraine: ‘Are You Kidding Me?!’
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade laid into Secretary of State Antony Blinken over a video of him rocking out and playing some Neil Young in a bar in Kiev, Ukraine.
The video has gotten plenty of attention and pushback on social media as critics have questioned the sense of Blinken playing “Rockin’ in the Free World” while Ukraine continues to fight off a Russian invasion.
“The United States is with you. So much of the world is with you and they’re fighting not just for Ukraine, but for the free world,” Blinken told the bar patrons before launching into the song.
Kilmeade compared the scene to then-Secretary of State John Kerry bringing musician James Taylor to France to perform in 2015 after the Paris terror attacks. Taylor performed for “You’ve Got a Friend” for French officials.
Kilmeade called the Blinken video “worse” than the “horrible” Taylor moment.
“Kharkiv is about to fall, the second biggest city in Ukraine. The weapons are late, yet to be delivered. The Russians are almost in the open field, hundreds of miles being eaten up, and he’s playing Neil Young?” he said.
“He’s not understanding the moment,” co-host Lawrence Jones added.
Kilmeade continued to be bothered as he watched the video play and co-host Ainsley Earhardt reported Blinken also met with Ukrainian leaders while in Kiev.
“Are you kidding me?! Do you know how terrible that looks? Be serious!” Kilmeade said.
He called it “terrible” and declared, “no one wants to see your secretary of state entertain a country.”
“To me, this is so embarrassing. Can you picture [Henry] Kissinger doing this?”
