‘Great Idea!’ Fox’s Martha MacCallum Would ‘Love’ To See Elon Musk Testify Before Congress About DOGE

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum reported on Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) calling for Elon Musk to come before the House Oversight Committee to answer questions about his gutting of USAID and taking over of the Treasury Department’s payment system. MacCallum ended the brief segment by emphatically agreeing with Connolly’s call for Musk to come before Congress, saying she would “love” to see it.

“House Oversight Committee holding a hearing on right-sizing government. And there is some drama brewing over Elon Musk and DOGE. First, here is Chairman Comer’s opening statement. Watch” MacCallum said before playing Rep. James Comer (R-KY) speaking earlier on Wednesday:

Democrats are hyperventilating and sensationalizing it. Over the past few days, we’ve heard wild claims from Democrats that we are, quote, ‘At the beginning of a dictatorship,’ unquote, and we are in a constitutional crisis. This kind of theatrical rhetoric is exactly what the American people rejected in November. Americans know that Washington needs reform and DOGE is taking inventory to bring about change and steward taxpayer dollars entrusted to the federal government.

“So moments later, this from the ranking Democrat,” MacCallum continued, playing the clip of Connolly replying:

Mr. Chairman, you correctly cited the role of Elon Musk. It’s a puzzling role for many people, certainly on this side of the aisle and I think for some on yours. Who is this unelected billionaire that he can attempt to dismantle federal agencies, fire people, transfer them, offer them early retirement, and have sweeping reforms or changes to agencies without any congressional review, oversight, or concurrence. Therefore, Mr. Chairman, given his provenance and his importance, I move that the committee subpoena Elon Musk to come forth as a witness at the earliest possible moment, and I so move.

“Well, that would be interesting. I would actually love to see that. I would love to see Elon Musk testify in front of the Oversight Committee. I think that’s a great idea!” MacCallum responded.

Dana Perino, who was co-anchoring with MacCallum, added, “I would, I mean, let me get the popcorn. Yep. All right. I’ll be there with the Milk Duds too.”
