Michael Moore accused President Joe Biden of being “completely misinformed” about what’s actually happening at pro-Palestinian college campus protests and offered a Mystery Science Theater 3000-style takedown of his recent press conference addressing these protests and the police responses in multiple states.
Police have dispersed encampments at colleges in New York, California, Georgia, and more. At Columbia University, activists took over an administrative building, which was later breached by police. Students have demanded their schools completely divest from Israel in protest of their strikes on Gaza, which have led to thousands of civilian deaths.
On the latest episode of his Rumble podcast, Moore called Biden’s condemnation of these encampments “fairly disappointing.”
“He clearly doesn’t understand what’s going on. He’s completely misinformed about what the protesters have been doing,” Moore said.
The filmmaker said some Democrats need to be taught a lesson before November and Biden needs to “make amends” for his support of Israel in their war against Hamas. Israel has said their strikes will not stop until Hamas is eliminated following the terror group’s Oct. 7 attack which led to more than 1,000 deaths and hundreds of kidnappings.
“We’re not letting Trump back in the Oval Office. We’re also not going to let Biden get away with this. He’s going to have to make the amends that need to be made to the people who have suffered the most, and a lesson needs to be taught to Democrats consistently, very sadly, make the wrong decision whether it’s regarding women’s rights or a whole bunch of other things,” he said.
Moore provided a “running commentary” for Biden’s speech, completely dismissing reports of violence from protests and calling the “vandalism” referenced by the president as minimal. Moore previously defended activists taking over an administrative building, arguing it’s the exact type of action needed for these protests.
Moore wrapped up his podcast by once again warning Biden that not changing his Israel policy will mean losing the election in November as younger voters will stay home or run to third parties. Moore previously helped organize a protest vote where more than 100,000 voted “uncommitted” in the Michigan Democratic primary. There have been similar primary protests in states like Wisconsin.
“Politically speaking, the longer you hold off putting an end to this, the more young people you turn away from voting for you, the more you create a situation where Trump makes it back into the White House, and that is unacceptable to all of us,” he said. “You have to listen.”
