‘Parents Must Be So Proud!’ Fox & Friends Cracks Up Over Marjorie Taylor Greene Trading Vicious Insults in the House with AOC, Jasmine Crockett
A House committee hearing descending into lawmakers trading vicious insults provided some entertainment for Fox & Friends on Friday.
Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt, and Lawrence Jones found themselves cracking up after watching clips of Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) throw barbs at each other on Thursday.
During the House Oversight hearing meant to discuss a resolution holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, things got off track when Greene asked if any House members employ the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money trial. Merchan’s daughter works for a consulting firm used by Rep. Dan Goldman (R-N.Y.).
After Crockett questioned the relevance of Greene’s point, the Georgia lawmaker insulted Crockett by referring to her “fake eyelashes.” Ocasio-Cortez condemned Greene’s bullying, but Greene refused to apologize, saying the remark could be struck from the record. Crockett responded to this by asking House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) for clarification on the rules of the committee and whether insulting Greene’s “bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body.”
I’m just curious. To better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” she asked a stunned Comer.
“James Comer, like me, I’d never heard the term ‘bleach blonde butch body.’ He goes, ‘You said what now?’ That was the best comeback ever,” Kilmeade said on Friday as his co-hosts laughed.
Kilmeade joked Comer was “totally overmatched by the dialogue.”
“Ladies, you got to go this low? Come on,” Earhardt added.
Jones noted the moment stood out because Greene, Ocasio-Cortez, and Crockett are all similarly “despised” by many in their own parties.
“Their parents must be so proud. I mean, to make it all the way to Congress and then act so trashy at a committee hearing,” Jones said.
