Pro-Haley PAC Releases Ad Featuring Literal Dumpster Fire Representing DeSantis Campaign

A political action committee supporting former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley for president has released a new ad depicting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign as a literal dumpster fire.
“In a world of chaos, the last thing America needs is another dumpster fire,” intoned the narrator of the ad as the camera slowly zooms in on a flaming trash receptacle.

The narrator then gives way to a bunch of clips of broadcasters talking about the DeSantis campaign.
“Support for Ron DeSantis is plummeting,” declares one commentator. “Republican voters are just not that into DeSantis,” proclaims another as sirens grow louder in the background.
They continue:
Ron DeSantis consistently trails… His campaign has been floundering basically since he announced… DeSantis getting a lot of bad campaign news this week… I think the story of DeSantis is quickly coming to an end.
For much of 2022 and 2023, DeSantis appeared to be the candidate best suited to supplant former President Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for president, even running ahead of Trump in some state polls.
But Trump’s criminal indictments resulted in a rally-around-the-leader effect that has bolstered the former president. The DeSantis campaign has struggled to find success in the wake of Trump’s resurgence, the tens of millions of dollars in negative ad spending against its principal, and Haley’s emergence as another viable Trump alternative.
Still, DeSantis has received the endorsements of Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R) and Bob Vander Plaats, a popular socially conservative leader in the Hawkeye State, and professed to be confident heading into the Iowa Caucus on January 15.
“People here in Iowa and in New Hampshire, they expect you to come and answer their questions. They expect you to come and ask for their vote. And I think what Donald Trump will do, he’ll parachute in for 45 minutes, an hour, give a speech, and then just leave,” said DeSantis on Monday. “We’ve actually listened to folks, answered their questions and taken in a lot of their advice about what they want to see about the country. So I think you’re going to see that on caucus night.”
