RNC Chair Calls Democrats ‘Pro-Criminal’ as GOP Frontrunner Has Been Indicted on 91 Criminal Counts
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel dubbed Democrats “pro-criminal,” even as the runaway frontrunner to win her party’s presidential nomination is under criminal indictment in four jurisdictions.
Appearing on Friday’s America’s Newsroom on Fox News, McDaniel said supporters of the serially indicted Donald Trump and Republican voters in general want a president who will be tough on crime.
“Trump voters, Republican voters – we want safety,” McDaniel explained. “We want fentanyl to be removed from the streets. We want our border closed. So, the Democrats are a pro-crime, pro-criminal, pro-fentanyl party right now. Their policies have shown that.”
The former president has been indicted on 91 counts in four criminal cases. Trump faces state charges in New York for allegedly falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to cover up extramarital affairs. In Georgia, he was indicted on RICO charges stemming from his efforts to subvert the 2020 presidential election in the state. He faces federal charges in Florida and Washington, D.C., where the Department of Justice alleges Trump willfully retained classified documents and tried to unlawfully overturn the election results, respectively. In all, he faces 91 counts, and has pleaded not guilty to all of them.
“We’re commonsense,” McDaniel continued. “They’re chaos and pro-criminal.”
Trump leads his Republican opponents by dozens of points in both state and national polls. The former president maintains a high favorability rating overall despite the indictments.
