‘Roy Cohn 101’: Trump Slammed For Sliming Nikki Haley, Claiming She Will Be Under Investigation Should She Beat Him

Donald Trump

Former President Donald Trump received a bevy of criticism after he claimed that should Nikki Haley become president she would find herself under investigation.

“These are very dishonest people, and you’re always fighting them. And just a little note to Nikki. She’s not going to win, but if she did, she would be under investigation by those people in 15 minutes,” Trump said, adding:

And I could tell you five reasons why already. Not big reasons. A little stuff that she doesn’t want to talk about, but she will be under investigation within minutes. And so would Ron have been. But he decided to get out. He decided to get. Now. Vivek, I don’t think would be at all because he’s perfect, right?

Trump’s argument that Haley is hiding some “little stuff” that could land her under investigation quickly received blowback online as critics and pundits accused the former president of thuggish intimidation.

Roy Cohn 101,” replied Mother Jones’s David Corn, referring to Trump’s highly controversial mentor who helped Trump in some of his earliest legal battles.

“Wait, Trump thinks being under investigation is disqualifying?” wrote podcaster Bob Cesca.

“Trump is a horrible person, absolutely unworthy of elected office in America. But so is every Republican who endorses him,” replied Sarah Longwell of the Bulwark.

Trump did find some defenders who wanted to make clear that Trump wasn’t explicitly threatening to investigate Haley, but that he was only insinuating, without citing anything specific, that she is corrupt and worthy of investigation.

“Yet another example of how the Vox Video Dunce, Aaron Ruper, is and long has been the most prolific spreader of lies and disinformation on this platform. Trump wasn’t threatening to investigate Haley. He said anyone who won – including her – would be investigated by Dems,” reacted Glenn Greenwald to the viral clip of the moment.
