Sage Steele Tears Into Alyssa Farah Griffin on Gutfeld: ‘Can I Just Real Quick Be Really Mean?’

Former ESPN host Sage Steele asked for a moment to be “really mean” on Wednesday’s Gutfeld! so she could quickly blast View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Steele, who recently launched a new show with Bill Maher’s podcast network, joined Greg Gutfeld on Wednesday and discussed a number of topics, including Robert De Niro’s rant outside the Manhattan courthouse where Donald Trump is on trial and Griffin raising alarms this week about a second Trump term, saying Democrats need to fight harder because time is “running out.”

“The time is running out. We are six months out. We have to be honest,” Griffin said. “There is a chance this guy could win if we don’t start fighting harder.”

While discussing the De Niro rant, Steele asked for a moment to circle back to Griffin.

“Can I just real quick be really mean? I need to. I don’t wanna give Alyssa too much credit because how often have we been able to say she’s right? She worked for the Trump White House,” she said. “Her entire career is because of the Trump White House, and she was behind everybody there, and then all of a sudden he loses the election and what does she do? She jumps to CNN and now to The View.”

Steele dismissed Griffin, a former communications official in Trump’s administration, as an “opportunist.”

“That’s it, you’re one and done. We’re done now,” she said about Griffin.

Griffin occupied a number of roles in the Trump White House, including serving as working as press secretary for then-Vice President Mike Pence. She eventually rose to the role of White House communications director, but resigned in December 2020 over Trump’s insistence the election had been stolen. She condemned Trump over the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol that followed, and emerged as a major critic of his after he left office.

This week, Griffin said her concerns about Trump’s chances at victory stemmed from a trip she took to the red state of Florida where the View co-host said she found “energized” Trump supporters.

“I spent the weekend in red state America, in Florida, had a great time, but it was a reminder to me of this, as adamant and strong as so many people around us in New York are, that Trump has to go down, Biden has to win, there are equally energized people on the other side,” she said.
