Senate Republican Repeats Tulsi Gabbard’s Claim That Hillary Clinton Was ‘On Tranquilizers’ on Newsmax
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) repeated on Thursday Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s claim that Hillary Clinton was on tranquilizers while in office.
The day before, Gabbard provided a lengthy statement on recently declassified documents during a White House press briefing. Those documents, she alleged, revealed that the administration of former President Barack Obama was behind a “coup” against then-President-elect Donald Trump. Gabbard accused the Obama administration of perpetuating the narrative that Russia and Trump colluded to interfere with the 2016 election.
The director also claimed that Russia was in possession of damning information against Clinton that it refrained from publishing. That included supposed evidence that Clinton suffered from “psychoemotional problems, uncontrolled fits of anger, aggression, and cheerfulness.” To treat those issues, Gabbard said, Clinton was “on a daily regimen of heavy tranquilizers.”
At the time of writing, there was no other evidence to support that claim outside of Gabbard’s reading of the alleged documents.
During a discussion about the Trump administration’s investigation into the Obama administration, Marshall repeated the tranquilizer theory and accused Clinton of “craving for all the power she can get.”
“Look, here’s the truth,” Marshall said. “Yes, look at the evidence. Here’s a report from the Oval Office. Barack Obama is given a report from the intelligence agency saying that Russia had minimal impact on the election, and Barack says, ‘Oh no, let’s change that narrative. Let’s go out there and delegitimize the election and tell the American people that Russia interfered with the election.’ Otherwise, how in the world could Hillary Clinton be beaten? Never mind that she was on tranquilizers at the time and to her wits’ end, and was craving for all the power she can get.”
