Steve Doocy Tells His Fox & Friends Colleagues the Economy Is Strong Under Biden: ‘A Lot of the Numbers Are Good’

The co-hosts of Fox & Friends discussed the latest CNN poll on Monday morning that showed Donald Trump with a strong 6-point lead over President Joe Biden and Biden’s dismal 34 percent approval rating on the economy.

Ainsley Earhardt began the discussion, noting, “When you look at the CNN poll, do you approve or disapprove of the way that Joe Biden is handling the economy? Only 34% approve. 66% disapprove. And you said that was the number one issue for a lot of voters.”

Co-host Brian Kilmeade jumped in and added, “That was before Kamala Harris gets to speak on it. I’m sure it’s going to reverse as soon as she gives that speech and tells everyone how much more money they have than actually they have, and tells me inflation is no big deal and it’s transitory.”

“So, it’s going to be a different message. The one thing the last time the president spoke about Bidenomics, there were people protesting his speech on Bidenomics outside. They have to find a way to say, look, we’re happy with the numbers, but we don’t. But we understand you don’t feel that way and then start customizing their message. They can’t keep on telling people that their life is better than they think it is,” Kilmeade continued, noting the disconnect between the economic data and Biden’s approval.

Steve Doocy spoke next and added, “Well, maybe if the White House is lucky, the people who are protesting Gaza will drown out the people protesting Bidenomics.”

“Just because you put on a speech. You know, the economy tours. That doesn’t mean the message is actually about the economy, because as we have been talking about for months, the numbers are, a lot of the numbers are good for the administration,” Doocy noted, adding:

But it just doesn’t feel like it. And that’s one of the reasons why young people are abandoning Joe Biden, because suddenly they’re out and they’re trying to make money. And then at the same time, the inflation is chewing away and all this stuff they’re trying to get, but look.

Lawrence Jones wrapped the discussion by then accusing Biden and VP Harris of trying to “hijack” Trump’s economic plan. “Look at what they’re doing right now. This is called the Economic Opportunity Tour. When you got the former president had opportunity zones. So they’re trying to hijack a message part of opportunity zones with lower taxes, deregulation, investment into poorer areas. And they’re saying they’re going to do it in the next administration. They haven’t done it yet. I just don’t understand how you hijack a message when you haven’t done anything to push the narrative forward,” Jones argued.
