Super Tuesday Voter Lets Loose with NBC About Why He’s Not Voting Haley: She ‘Doesn’t Have No Balls to Scratch’
Some Super Tuesday voters are holding nothing back when TV cameras pop up in front of them.
One such voter was Emmett Martin of Graham, North Carolina. He spoke with NBC correspondent Shaquille Brewster and needed just a bit of convincing to give the real reason why he was refusing to support Nikki Haley over Donald Trump for the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.
“You know, what I got to say, you don’t really want to put on the air,” Martin said.
“Let me hear it!” Brewster replied only to seconds later be listening to Martin describe why Haley would not make a good president because she doesn’t have “balls to scratch.”
“Well, one is not going to be a good president because she doesn’t have no balls to scratch. She’s just going to scratch her head. All a woman is good for in my book is having babies and taking care of the house. That’s the old thing, but I’m old school,” Martin said.
“So you never even considered her?” Brewster asked.
“No,” Martin said.
“Mainly because she’s a woman?”
“Because she’s female.”
Martin followed up by saying he doesn’t want to be taken the wrong way. He then insisted women need “guidance.”
“Don’t take me wrong, females know what they’re doing, but they still got to have a little bit of guidance. Trump would be the one to guide her,” he said.
Brewster shared the exchange to X, formerly Twitter, and noted he usually doesn’t hear voters get this explicit when discussing Nikki Haley’s gender.
“Men and women have told me they wouldn’t vote for Haley because she’s a woman before (and in plenty of other states), but rarely is it said this explicitly and in front of a camera,” the reporter wrote.
During a segment including Martin on MSNBC that aired on Monday, his Haley comments did not air, but his positive words about Trump did, citing jobs, taxes, and the economy as reasons to vote for the former president.
“Things were a whole lot better when he was our president,” he said.
Martin wasn’t the only anti-Haley voter keeping things loose on Tuesday. One woman on Fox & Friends said Haley is “probably menopausal” and declared she wouldn’t vote for a woman.
