The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Suggests Biden Could ‘Throw Every Republican in Jail’ if Trump Wins SCOTUS Immunity Case

Whoopi Goldberg theorized that President Joe Biden could throw “every Republican in jail” if the Supreme Court rules that Donald Trump has immunity in a criminal elections interference case.

The Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to hear oral arguments in the case regarding presidential immunity at the end of April. Critics have accused the court, which seats three Trump appointees, of providing Trump with a delay tactic to push off the Jan. 6 case.

Trump has argued he has blanket immunity in his various criminal cases and the Supreme Court will be determining how far that immunity actually goes.

Goldberg suggested on Thursday’s The View that Trump’s claims of immunity would give Biden a free pass to do anything, including jailing political rivals.

“Let’s look at a scenario where the Supreme Court says yes, he has all those rights. He is immune from everything. You know what Joe Biden could do since he is presently president? Wooooo!” Golberg said. “He could throw every Republican in jail. I mean, he could!”

The View co-host actually had to stop some in the audience from applauding the idea.

“No, No, this is not a good thing,” she said.

Goldberg argued the Supreme Court backing Trump’s immunity claim would be a “slippery slope.”

“What this means is he can do anything. He could dismiss everybody’s debt, you know, there’s a whole bunch of great stuff that could happen too,” she said.

Goldberg called it a “bad look” for the Supreme Court, while Sunny Hostin offered a more positive reaction by predicting a ruling by the end of June and arguing the determination from the Supreme Court would prevent Trump from having an “appealable issue,” if he would be tried and convicted before potentially being elected president in November.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former communications official in the Trump White House, called hearing the case a delay tactic.”

Joy Behar was perturbed by the whole thing, declaring at one point, “I feel like I’m in the wrong country.”
